Pipe Clamps, incl. DamperX™ and ThermaGlide™

Field-proven designs to control vibration and allow thermal growth in piping systems

Using decades of experience in vibration design and troubleshooting, we have developed a range of anti-vibration clamps for piping systems in vibratory service. The clamps are suitable for systems subjected to demanding shaking forces typically encountered in the following applications:

  • Pulsating flow in:
    • Reciprocating compressor service
    • Reciprocating pump service
  • Two-phase flow systems
  • Piping with significant flow-induced turbulence
  • Slug flow

Overview

Our anti-vibration clamps provide unique features to balance different requirements for your piping system designs:

Vibration control

Piping systems that experience vibration require robust supports that can withstand shaking forces and prevent fatigue failures.

All of our clamps provide the necessary stiffness to restrain vibratory movement while also resisting vibratory loosening of the support bolts, ensuring a safe and reliable operation.

Vibration damping

Our DamperX clamps provide a unique combination of stiffness and damping for applications with high vibration risk, resulting in significant reductions of resonant piping vibration compared to other industry lining materials.

Thermal growth and vibration support with ThermaGlide

Most piping systems require a flexible design to allow for thermal growth and shrinkage due to temperature changes. Without adequate flexibility, the piping can experience high static stresses, causing a plethora of problems including low-cycle fatigue, excessive equipment nozzle loads, machinery casing distortion, excessive support structure loads and others. This design consideration for flexibility often conflicts with vibration design requirements for stiffness and rigidity.

Our line of ThermaGlide anti-vibration clamps accommodate both thermal and vibration design criteria by providing a clamp with exceptional vibration control that can also allow the pipe to slide under static thermal loads.

ThermaGlide’s sliding ability (patent pending) allows pipe migration under thermal loads to relieve high static stresses, while at the same time preventing movement under dynamic shaking forces. This unique combination of characteristics gives piping designers new tools to create superior piping system designs with low static stresses and robust vibration control.

ThermaGlide pipe supports come in different configurations to allow sliding along the axis of the pipe, lateral to the pipe and also vertical, as needed.

Piping designers can select an appropriate clamp for each location in the piping system and optimize cost and function by using the right clamp for the job, only at the locations it is needed.

Height adjustability, corrosion control and ease of inspection

Our anti-vibration wedge clamps offer superior pipe height adjustability at installation and provide ease of corrosion inspection over the life of your facility, in addition to excellent vibration control and the ability to accommodate thermal growth, when required.
